The African Academy of Languages (ACALAN) is set to hold a meeting with Media/Communication experts; this is in line with desire to promote and encourage the usage of the Africa’s mother tongues.
The meeting which is scheduled to kick off today, 27 through 28 December, 2018 in Kigali the capital of Rwanda will be streamed live in ACALAN TV.
ACALAN meeting with Media experts came as part of the ongoing efforts to promote and empower greater use of African languages, hence consulting experts in media field will help in disseminating as well as promoting the selected cross-boarders languages through ICT, as the world according to McLuhan is “shrunk” by modern advances in communications, linking everyone in the world, which Africa is not excepted.
Those expected to be at the meeting are ACALAN representatives from member states, members of the African Union (AU) and media/ICT experts.
